When mounted in the vertical upright position, the valve allows air to flow freely in both directions — permitting normal crankcase venting. If the fitting rotates more than 90 degrees from upright, it automatically closes and shuts off all flow, containing fluids inside the engine or catch can.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis valve is most commonly used on engine vents and oil catch can vents.
